June
The second session of the Habitat Assembly (a universal body composed of the 193 member states of the United Nations and convened every four years) will be held from June 5-9, 2023 at UN-Habitat headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
The theme of the session is “A Sustainable Urban Future through Inclusive and Effective Multilateralism: Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Times of Global Crisis.” More information and the draft program can be found here.
Thursday 8 morning will be the dedicated space for us to convene the World Assembly of Local and Regional Governments, as well as the session on Localization (which will have finance as a special theme).

CIB Annual Meeting 2023 in Marrakech
During the annual meeting of the CIB Working Group, professionals of Local Government Associations (LGAs) and local governments responsible for substantive programmes in capacity development and development cooperation will gather to exchange information and knowledge on the latest trends in our sector, with special attention for the perspective of the Global South. Aside from various group discussions and interactive world cafés, aimed at peer learning and knowledge sharing, various international and national key note speakers will be invited to the City of Marrakech, to provide informative presentations, case studies and best practices.
The venue of the meeting will be the Cadi Ayyad University. All other practical details are enclosed in the logistical note attached, that includes information on transport and visa requirements etc. The draft program of the Annual Meeting is also provided in the attachments.
