Local Generation Equality.

A brand-new tool was introduced to achieve gender equality in Africa’s towns and regions at Africities, the largest Pan-African democratic gathering organised by United Cities and Local Governments of Africa in Kisumu (Kenya) on 19 May: the Local Authorities Charter for Gender Equality in Africa.

On International Women’s Day, March 8, UCLG reaffirms its commitment with the promotion of a municipal feminist movement, where local and regional governments foster transformative agendas for equality.

The Network of Locally Elected Women of Africa (REFELA), one of the largest women’s representative bodies in the world, is celebrating its 10^th anniversary at the the World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders in Daejeon.
