UCLG President and Mayor of Istanbul Kadir Topbaş visited Ljubljana last week to celebratate the city becoming the European Green Capital 2016.

Mayor Topbaş attended the celebrations by invitation of Zoran Jankovic, Mayor of Ljubljana. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Slovenian President Borut Pahor and Prime Minister Miro Cerar.

President Topbaş spoke on the “Cities of Future” panel organized which was held on the same occasion, along with the Mayors of Ljubljana, Budapest, Sofia and Belgrade as well as Violeta Bulc, EU Commissioner for Mobility and Transport.
