Sympathy and solidarity following the tragic attack in Iraq and Pakistan

Our family of local governments wishes to express its condolences and sympathy to colleagues of the Local Councils Association of the Punjab, the families of the victims, and the people of Lahore and Pakistan, following the tragic attack that affected so many at the popular Gulshan-e-Iqbal park the during Easter celebrations.

We also convey our deepest sorrow to those affected by the recent attack on the football stadium in Iskandariyah, Iraq. 

Horrific acts such as these aim to strike at the heart of our diverse and democratic societies and are sadly being experienced with increased frequency across the world.

We, local and regional governments united in UCLG, condemn these attacks and express our solidarity with all local leaders and citizens across the world ​facing terrorism in all its forms in these difficult times.
