On behalf of the family of local governments across the world, the members of the World Organisation United Cities and Local Governments wish to express their deepest condolences and sympath​​y to the people of ​the ​Ivory Coast and Turkey, and the families of the victims, following the tragic attacks in ​Grand-Bassam and Ankara.

​Such acts​ aim to attack the core values of​ democracy and free and peaceful societies​, and sadly have an increasing impact on cities and citizens worldwide.

Local and regional leaders remain in solidarity with their peers across the world​ facing ​all forms of terrorism.
