United Cities and Local Governments and the City of Mexico are pleased to announce that online attendee registration is now open for the first Local and Regional Leaders’ World Summit, the III UCLG World Congress to be held in Mexico on 16-20 November 2010.

The Local and Regional Leaders’ World Summit will aim at showing the human face behind policymaking. It will assess the current challenges but will also look into the future of our cities and regions, portraying cities as places where solutions can be found for our global future.

Visit our Congress portal, www.uclgcongress.com, where you gather interesting perspectives on the Congress topics and participate in the interactive forums:

1º Promoting Innovation: Identifying best practices for dealing with tough challenges such as the financial crisis.

2º What should be the new Global Governance: Should it include new actors? Is it about different decision making? What should the role of local and regional authorities be?

3º The city in 2030: What will it be like? What do we want to keep? What do we need to change?

The sessions of the Summit will be held in the historical buildings of the cultural heart of Mexico City, offering a rare opportunity for participants to experience the dynamic daily life of one of the largest cities in the world, as well as its cultural diversity and centuries-old heritage.
