UCLG Learning Forum in Daejeon will highlight learning methodologies and tools that will strengthen the Pact for the Future

02.09.2022

The UCLG Learning Forum will showcase learning practices and discuss the learning methodologies and tools on the way for the UCLG Pact for the Future – next October 11th, in Daejeon, Korea, during the 7th UCLG World Congress.

“To meet new challenges, cities need Learning, Learning, Learning” – these were the words of our leaders 6 years ago, when the Learning Forum gathered in Bogota (see video here). After meeting again in Durban (see here), the learning community will gather in Daejeon!

This time, we are proudly looking at a different landscape:

  • We became digital players, with an online community of almost 2000 learners.

  • We count on many focal points in regional sections and networks

  • Peer-to-peer learning has become a habit in UCLG

  • More global agendas’ modules are rolled out in collaboration with members and partners

So, the 5th edition of the UCLG Learning Forum that will be held at the UCLG World Congress in Daejeon will be an open space for members, networks, associations and partners to collectively build the future UCLG Learning agenda.

The Learning Forum has been built as a place to share learning methodologies, mobilization and capacity building strategies, reflections, needs and solutions. It has also continued the UCLG Learning Forum preparatory stocktaking sessions realized throughout this year, on Peer Learning, Localizing Global Agendas and E-Learning, gathering inputs of members and partners for the Daejeon’s Congress.

The session will take place on the second day (October 11th, from 10:30 to 17:00), and will be divided into six different sections, all of them aligned to the UCLG Pact for the Future:

  1. Discussing with UCLG leaders the future of Learning for People, Planet and Government;

  2. Showcasing best practices of Learning methodologies and tools in a “speed-dating session” on the Learning Marketplace;

  3. Learning skills from specialists on how to learn concretely on specific topics of interest;

  4. Playing with the UCLG Learning Games;

  5. Listening to the regional Learning focal points and trainers;

  6. Looking ahead on the integrated Learning agenda for the next few years with members and partners.

This 5th edition of the UCLG Learning Forum will follow the tradition of the previous UCLG World Congresses and be an open space for members, networks, associations and partners to collectively build the UCLG Learning agenda for the next few years. We hope you will engage!
